I know in class Mr. Cheddar said that Cora was an unreliable narrator because she says that Darl walks past Addie's room and then later sys that he stopped and looked in, but I feel like maybe he did stop in the room. On page 27, in Dewey Dell's first chapter, it says, "He stands in the door, looking at her. 'What do you want, Darl?' I say...." I understand that Cora would pretend Darl stopped in the room because she is partial to him, but why would Dewey Dell lie about it?

Cora first tells the story as if Darl never stopped in because that seems less cold than the conversation he actually had with Dewey Dell. Cora is clearly partial to Darl and wants to portray him in the best light possible. Dewey Dell never lies, Cora just leaves out part of the truth.
