In Cora's first two narratives, she specifically points out that Darl did not look at his mother when she was dying. Later on however, she alters this on detail on page 24, stating that Darl did in fact look at Addie lovingly. She also states on page 22 that Darl begged Jewel to stay home instead of going away on business because Addie is dying, when in reality it is Darl who makes the decision to leave. Why do you think Cora changes details of her narrative in regards to Darl? Why does she seem to display a partiality to Darl as opposed to Jewel?
