Michael Dickman was a very interesting poet and I am glad he was the host for my first poetry reading. I had expected Michael to be kind of depressed and even nihilistic or annoyingly upbeat and happy. This was not the case: Dickman had his own uniques style. His style of reading poetry allowed me to interpret his poems very differently and it was very amusing when he told of his life frivolities--it was a very intriguing evening to say the least.
