After attending the poetry reading, I had a much better understanding of Dickman's poetry. Although when I read "We did not make ourselves", I thought it was very dark, when he read it, it gave off a whole new meaning, although it still had a slightly dark tone. Despite not really liking his poetry, I felt that the reading was enjoyable because it allowed me to understand him better, however, I thought that the short play thing was kind of stupid. The plays were just silly, seemed like an attempt at selling himself to more people, and did not allow the audience to understand him better at all.
